Development Project Associate

Department: Real Estate & Construction

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of Real Estate & Construction processes, terminology and application.
  • Ability to manage logistics for new store development and existing store relocations to work closely with Development Team, Marketing, Operations, Consultants/Vendors, Franchisees, Developers and Operations Partners.
  • Perform and maintain accurate development tracking reports for the development department, to include managing approved Contractor/Vendor Lists.
  • Perform/Conduct follow-up conference calls and communications for construction project tracking and progress reporting, completion and finalization of the projects through a working knowledge of the punch list and project close-out processes.
  • Manage, plan and schedule weekly and bi-weekly new shop opening communications with Franchisees, Operations Partners, Developers and general contractor for a smooth transitional shop construction opening process.
  • Provide on-going education, coaching, and counseling to franchisees on construction processes, equipment ordering and tracking, vendors, consultant to Franchisees and Developers all the while maintaining productive, supportive working relationships
  • Support franchisees through the entire design, permitting, approval and construction phases of their project’s development
  • Manage and update all department-related information on FranConnect Shop Management program to include lease and development tracking.
  • Attendance at required conventions and industry events
  • Builds and maintains strong, collaborative, cross-functional relationships
  • Provides regular updates to the development team on project progress and maintains appropriate portion(s) of the development report
  • Other duties as requested, directed or assigned to include high-priority projects that affect strategic market plans and new shop opening goals for Development.

Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • 2 or 4-year degree in construction, construction management, real estate, business management or related discipline or relevant experience
  • Experience with development involving franchisees or direct customers.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction with some real estate principles and acumen associated with multi-unit development (optional)
  • Ability to impact the course of events through coaching, counseling, and influencing others to accomplish desired outcomes
  • Ability to constantly prioritize and re-prioritize activities based on changing needs
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills
  • Highly effective Microsoft Word and Excel operating skills
  • Procore, Buildertrend and Microsoft Project experience optional.
  • Ability to build and maintain high-performing cross-functional and collaborative working relationships
  • Travel locally and regionally if necessary.
